By Zimbabwe Voice Reporter

POLICE in Harare are investigating a case of suspected murder in which a self-styled prophetess administered a healing concoction which turned out deadly leading to the patient’s death.

The incident occurred this Tuesday in Glen View when a local woman sought spiritual healing from the self-proclaimed prophetess.

In a statement this Wednesday afternoon, police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Paul Nyathi said the suspect, Shylet Chatikobo (33), is up on a murder charge.

“(Charikobo) administered a concoction on Linet Mbesa on 05 October in Glen Norah, Harare, leading to her death. The victim had sought spiritual healing from the suspect,” said Nyathi.

The suspect is expected in court soon once investigations have been completed.

Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident, the ZRP is investigating a case of baby dumping which occurred at Mbare Musika in Harare.

A police statement says that on Monday this week at 1500 hours, an unknown woman boarded an Inter Africa bus before asking a fellow passenger to keep a baby who is approximately two weeks old.

Police say the unidentified woman did not return to take the baby leading to a police report being lodged.

Police took the baby to Sally Mugabe Hospital for further management while investigations into the matter are ongoing.
