Police name victims of Victoria Falls highway Limousine accident

POLICE with the help of victims’ relatives have identified the three people who died in a horrific road accident that occurred at the 138 km peg along the Bulawayo-Victoria Falls highway on Sunday.

Three died on the spot when a Limousine Lincoln they were travelling in from Bulawayo to Victoria Falls burst its rear left tyre, veered off the road and hit a tree.

In a statement this Friday, police have named the three victims as follows:

– Norman Moyo, a male adult aged 30 of house number 4240 Lobengula west, Bulawayo;
– Rumbidzai Muhlanga a female adult aged 30 of Ndlovu Secondary School, Victoria Falls;
– Dinglwazi Mhlanga, a male adult aged 30 of Lewellyn Barracks, Bulawayo.

Police further appealed to members of the public with a missing adult relative to visit St Luke’s Hospital in Lupane and assist in the identification of the fourth victim.

The driver of the Limousine was a police officer stationed in Bulawayo, said police who added that he was speeding towards Victoria Falls to pick up the owner of the vehicle from the Victoria Falls Airport.

Four other people, including the son of the owner of the Limousine, were critically injured and are admitted at St Luke’s Hospital in Lupane. □
