By Tim N. Mukudzeyi

SOCIALITE and businesswoman Pokello Nare’s teenage son, Nathan Mutasa, has signed for French lower league side US Torcy, the former club for Manchester United central midfielder Paul Pogba.

Nathan is Pokello’s child with Tafadzwa “Taffy” Mutasa, son to popular businesswoman and Telecel boss Jane Mutasa. The 18-year-old is Pokello’s eldest son.

Nathan was part of the Young Warriors squad which took part in the Cosafa U-17 tournament in 2018. The talented left-footed youngster made his debut for the national team in 2018 when he was selected among this year’s national Under-17 squad for the Cosafa Cup at the age of 15.

Pokello is fully supportive of her son’s ambitions as a professional footballer and always escorts Nathan to the airport when he’s flying out on national team duties.

“Imagine holding treasure in your possession for so many years. I think there is always that one defining moment for me it was when he was 10-years-old.

“In a highly competitive school match, he had to take a corner kick and we all expected him to cross the ball in but no left kick curled into the top right corner of the net,” she once wrote on her Instagram page.

“Since that day, there is nothing you can tell me about football, l have raw left-footed talent in my house. I tell him everytime don’t feel limited because of where you are from, the world will know soon enough.

“It’s an honour to play for your country son, the youngest on the team too. I think I’m finally ready to let you go, it’s your time now soar with the eagles Nathan,” Pokello previously gushed out in happiness for the boy.
