ZIMBABWE yesterday reached a milestone 1 million first dose vaccinations against Covid-19, but a shocking 86 people died from Covid-19 complications yesterday alone.
In a statement shared by the Ministry of Health and Child Care, Harare had the most deaths at 27, followed by Bulawayo with 14 deaths.
2491 new Covid-19 cases were recorded, with Harare Metropolitan Province topping the list with 457 infections. Mashonaland West remains a troubled hotspot with 423 cases recorded yesterday alone.
On the vaccination front, Zimbabwe yesterday vaccinated over 47 000 on the first dose, taking the cumulative first dose vaccinations to over 1 030 000.
More than 5 700 received their second jab, taking to cumulative tally to over 630 000 who have receive both doses.
Zimbabwe remains under a tweaked level 4 lockdown with a rolling curfew and strict travel restrictions. – Zimbabwe Voice ■
