PUBLIC mass transport operator Zimbabwe United Passenger Company (ZUPCO) has reviewed downwards its fares and also pulled all intercity buses from the roads.
All the changes are with immediate effect, according to a statement by the bus operator.
ZUPCO said the changes were meant to clear congestion in urban centres where modes of transportation were severely limited and commuters were resorting to pirate taxis and private vehicles.
ZUPCO says its buses will adhere to the lockdown regulations and observe the curfew times. Passengers travelling to the city other than for employment are urged to do so between 8.30am and 3.30pm so as to minimize congestion.
The changes come as Government revised the lockdown restrictions yesterday, witj police roadblocks removed until 10am as they werw causing traffic bottlenecks.
