Harare viral CCTV thieves arrested

SUSPECTED thieves whose pictures went viral on social media after being captured on CCTV were hauled to court over the weekend charged with unlawful entry.

Tongai Brighton Tsuro and Carrington Kashesha were not asked to plead when they appeared before Harare magistrate Dennis Mangosi.

Allegations are that on April 6, the two and their alleged accomplices Nazarius Gumini, Kapondera and Sydney Chemhere, still at large, broke into the complainant’s house and stole a 55-inch plasma TV worth $32 400.

They were captured on CCTV as they were leaving the house.

The TV set was recovered.

In the second count, the State alleges that the two and their accomplices broke into the second complainant’s residence and stole a 42-inch TV set and a hybrid amplifier all valued at $62 250.

They also reportedly stole another TV set, a 32 inch set worth $8 300 and nothing was recovered. ■
