NORMAL court proceedings have resumed following the relaxation of national lockdown measures by President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Monday.

In a statement Chief Justice Luke Malaba said normal operations at the Constitutional Court; the Supreme Court; the High Court, the Labour Court; the Administrative Court; and the Magistrates’ Court resumed this Tuesday.

He added that all those who attend court proceedings should adhere to Covid-19 health guidelines including temperature checks, hand sanitising, wearing face masks, maintaining social distance and avoiding person to person contact.

Solemnisation of marriages will now be conducted with only the parties to the marriage and their witnesses attending.

Courts have been operating under tight measures for the past two months due to the national lockdown, with all non-urgent cases having been suspended.

The courts were only restricted to urgent cases including urgent chamber applications, initial remand and bail applications. — ZBC
