POLICE in Matebeleland North have busted two men who masqueraded as cops while extracting bribes from local businesses.

Lucky ran out for the two when they were fished out by one businessman who called in the police. POLICE spokesperson Paul Nyathi confirmed the arrest.

“The ZRP has arrested David Ndlovu (29) and Posent Nyathi (32) on 22 February, at Lupote Business Centre, Dete for impersonating police officers.

“The suspects went to the business centre clad in police uniform before enforcing COVID-19 regulations and accepting bribes from shop owners,” he said.
