Zanu-PF MPs in stampede with CVs as ED about to reshuffle Cabinet

PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa who is expected to appoint 3 cabinet ministers following the death of SB Moyo, Joel Biggie Matiza, and Ellen Gwaradzimba due to COVID-19 last month has reportedly tasked the Zanu-PF secretary for administration Obert Mpofu to collect CVs of Zanu PF MPs and Senators.

President Mnangagwa is reportedly planning to take the opportunity to also reshuffle his cabinet for reasons unknown and the reshuffling speculation has reportedly sparked fierce jostling in the ruling party.

An official that spoke to the publication on the condition of anonymity reportedly said a cabinet reshuffle was imminent:

It’s not a secret that there will be a cabinet reshuffle soon. The President, though keeping his cards close to his chest, has given a clear indication that he is not going to appoint gap fillers, but wants a cabinet
reshuffle. He also appears to be frustrated by the incompetences of some ministers

A politburo member reportedly said all MPs reportedly tendered in their CVs:

I haven’t seen this level of interest in ministerial appointments. People have been running around trying to fix things and lining themselves up for posts. As we speak, not one MP failed to submit his or her CV.

The President is reportedly considering a lot of people for various positions and speculation is rife in the Zanu Pf circles as to who might get which ministry.

Sources made told the Zimbabwe Independent about people who might be appointed by President Mnangagwa’s alleged cabinet reshuffle. The following speculations seem to be rife:

  1. Kirsty Coventry might be moved to the Foreign Affairs Ministry
  2. Tinoda Machakaire might be made the Youth Minister.
  3. Arikana Chihombori-Quao might be made the Foreign Affairs Minister
  4. Simbarashe Mumbengegwi might be made Foreign Affairs Minister
  5. Daniel Mckenzie-Ncube might be made Transport Minister
  6. Justice Mayor Wadyajena Might be made Transport Minister
  7. Patrick Chinamasa might be made Information Minister

Last year, stories about President Mnangagwa planning to reshuffle the cabinet and possibly getting rid of Mangaliso Ndlovu circulated but the story died a natural death. – via Zimbabwe Independent
