Gweru river accident: 2 bodies recovered

A Toyota Hilux double cab that went missing after it was swept off from a bridge along Gweru River Sunday morning has been recovered, Gweru mayor Josiah Makombe has confirmed.

It is believed that one of the recovered bodies belongs to a senior employee with Gweru City Council who is an engineer.

We cannot disclose the name of the suspected deceased because the next of kin are not yet informed.

The mayor cast doubts on earlier reports that there were six people in the car. He said that witness may have given a wrong estimate.

The vehicle was towing a compressor. 🔺
