ZIMBABWE’S senior national men’s soccer team, the Warriors, are now ranked the 105th strongest team on the globe, reflecting an improvement by six places from the previous position of 111, according to the latest FIFA rankings seen by the Zimbabwe Voice this Friday.
On the continent, the Warriors remain outside the best 20 teams at number 24.
This is an improvement by three places from the 27th position they were in last month before their back-to-back clashes with Algeria in the 2022 AFCON qualifiers Group H matches two weeks ago.
The Warriors lost 3 – 1 in Algeria before fighting in a nail-biting second leg at the National Sports Stadium in Harare to end the match at 2 – 2.
The strongest team on the continent remains Senegal followed by Tunisia, Algeria, Nigeria and Morocco to complete the top five.
The latest rankings saw Belgium retain their top spot, with France and Brazil rounding out the top 3.
England and Portugal complete the top five.
