President Mnangagwa promotes four Colonels to Brigadier-Generals

PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa has promoted four Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) senior officers from the rank of Colonel to Brigadier-Generals.

Commander ZNA, Lieutenant General Edzai Chimonyo challenged the newly promoted officers to be involved in national development.

The conferment of new ranks to the newly promoted Zimbabwe National Army senior officers was held at Josiah Magama Tongogara Barracks in Harare this Thursday,

“I want to challenge you to be tolerant and accommodative. The nation expects you to be loyal and I want to challenge you to be involved in national development.”

The newly-promoted officers are Brigadier General David Charambira Moyo, Brigadier General David Nyasha, Brigadier General Godfrey Mutetse and Brigadier General Charles Mashava.

Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted senior officers, Brigadier General Charambira Moyo pledged loyalty to the nation.

“We are going to work hard and I want to thank the President and you the Commander for putting your trust in us. We are happy and feel valued and we really appreciate it.”

The investiture ceremony was attended by several senior ZNA and Air Force of Zimbabwe officers. ■
