POLICE say they have arrested a man in connection to the hit-and-run accident which led to the death of popular Zimbabwe rap king Cal-Vin.

Cal_Vin was reportedly run over by a white Mazda Familia car just a few metres away from his home in Luveve 5 in the late hours of Saturday night.

The 35-year-old musician had just watched Liverpool’s late-night match with Sheffield United at a bar called the Emakhandeni Cricket Club in Luveve.

In a tweet, Police said the suspect handed himself over to them on Wednesday.

“Police in Bulawayo arrested one suspect in connection with the fatal hit and run accident which led to the death of musician Calvin Nhliziyo. The suspect handed himself over to the police on 28/10/20,” reads a police statement.

Nhliziyo sustained serious head injuries and he died on admission at Mpilo hospital.

Bulawayo police had said early this week that the cause of the accident was due to failure to keep a proper look out, a charge of “Culpable Homicide” as defined in section 49 of the criminal law (Codification and Reform) Act would be preferred on the culprit. – Zimbabwe Voice
