REDAN Private Limited had made a donation of three specialised surface ambulances worth R3,5 million to the Ministry of Health and Child Care, a development which feeds into the ministry’s quest to capacitate the ambulance services directorate.
The ambulances will serve the Gwanda, Masvingo, Marondera Provincial Hospitals.

Health and Child Care Minister, Vice President Constantino Chiwenga said yesterday his ministry is in the process of restructuring and subsequently there is going to be a directorate of Ambulance services that will have two departments — surface and air ambulances.
He said the donation, “comes with my ministry’s vision to establish a Directorate of Ambulance Services to ensure that every part of the country has access to an ambulance.”
“The ministry will achieve its vision by a fleet of at least 200 surfaces ambulances. Our desire is to achieve a prosperous and empowered upper middle-income society by 2030.
