JOURNALIST Perfect Mswati Hlongwane (pictured) has been promoted to the post of News Editor for ZiFM Stereo, the country’s premier national radio station.

The announcement was made by the AB Communications, a holding company which also owns radio stations Hevoi FM in Masvingo Province, and 98.4 FM in the Midlands Province.

Before joining ZiFM Stereo a few years ago, Hlongwane worked for the State-owned Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) as it’s bureau chief for Midlands Province.

Group Editor in Chief for AB Communications, Kelvin Jakachira further announced other senior appointments in its newspaper and radio units which he said are aimed at consolidating the multimedia company’s position as the market leader for news and current affairs in Zimbabwe.

Jakachira said Chengetai Murimwa is now the Southern Region Editor responsible for Hevoi FM in Masvingo Province, 98.4 FM in the Midlands Province and the Bulawayo Bureau.

The group has also promoted Martha Mamombe, Mona-Lisa Dube, Anesu Masamvu and Zororai Nkomo to the post of senior reporters with added responsibilities.

“AB Communications is renowned for being the most credible source of news and information in Zimbabwe.

“We have been consistently and constantly recognized in that regard,” said Jakachira. – Zimbabwe Voice
