The MDC-T led by Thokozani Khupe continues to wield the axe on councillors who are no longer serving the interests of the party with three mayors and several councillors being the latest victims.
Having already recalled 11 councillors in Harare this Monday, the MDC-T continued to wield the axe on councillors aligned to MDC-Alliance Leader, Nelson Chamisa yesterday (Tuesday).
The latest to face the axe is Gwanda Mayor, Councilor Jastone Mazhale, his Beitbridge counterpart, Morgan Ncube and Marondera’s Chengetai Murowa.
Both Mazhale and Ncube confirmed having received letters of a recall this Tuesday morning, while Marondera Acting Town Clerk Rinashe Nyamuzihwa confirmed having received correspondence from Minister of Local Government and Public Works, July Moyo declaring 5 seats in the town vacant following recalling of Mayor Murowa, Size Vilela, Charles Ngwenya, Wonder Sirira and Misheck Manyere.
Two Beitbridge councillors; Granger Nyoni and Agnes Tore were recalled, while the Bulawayo City Council also suffered a huge blow following the recall of up to eight (8) councillors.
Bulawayo Mayor, Councillor Solomon Mguni confirmed that the recalled are: Tinashe Kambarami, Enerst Rafamoyo, Tineruvimbo Maposa, Donaldson Mabuto, Concilia Mlalazi, Norman Hlabani, Lilian Mlilo and Clayton Zana.
